A couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on this past Christmas Day and still live near the playground where they met when they were six years old! Alec Naulls, 90, and wife Edna, 89, tied the knot on December 25, 1947. They were 20 and 19 at the time, and had known each other since childhood. The Christmas wedding was one out of necessity: Alec was in the Army and based in Hannover, Germany. The year after they fell in love, Alec was able to secure a ten-day pass over the Christmas period of 1947, and rushed home for the wedding, before returning to the army on New Year's Eve. They have four great-grandchildren, seven grandchildren, and had four children. Alec attributes the length of their marriage to "an equal partnership." He said: "We have always put each other first. It has been an equal partnership." Congratulations to this beautiful and inspiring couple!
